Not sure how I feel about this new platform to write on, but I'm sure Google has done it's research and this is probably better than the old one so I'll just have to adjust. It's been awhile since I've last written on this blog and I apologize for my absence. So many things happen at the end of summer with the athletes heading back to college, family vacations, Braden's birthday, and adjusting to the new work schedule. No excuses I know, but sometimes life just gets in the way...
Today was another one of those life moments. Braden, who turned 3 on August 27th, started his first day of pre-school today at Westminister Church in Durham. Caroline was able to take him and I had the joy and privilege of picking him up. He was so excited to see me and tell me about his day and couldn't stop talking the entire way home. Braden is such a sweet sweet boy and it is so rewarding to see him smile and enjoy his simple life. What a blessing today was...
As for training, Morven and I have entered into a sprint on October 15th and that means that training has a purpose now. For the first full week of training I will start from Saturday, September 3rd, and come up through the weekend approaching. I will try and make a point of posting the week's plan on Sunday night so Kenny and Rachel can follow if they want to try the sprint on October 15th as well.
9.3.2011 - Saturday
43 miles out and back from Herndon Park with Morven and Roger Jeffs (a friend and client who I'm training for the B2B Half Iron on October 30th). We decided to ride quite a bit farther than we probably should but it was nice to give Roger some company and we were able to average 20mph for the distance which is a record for me on that ride. Roger had to take off but Morven and I ran about 3 miles down the ATT at a steady and easy pace after the ride.
